Hi all Qlikkies & Inphinities and welcome to the new release of Inphinity Forms.
Using Inphinity Forms in Qlik Cloud is a true server-less experience. Users are analyzing the data in Qlik Cloud while saving their notes, inputs, plans, or approvals right there on the sheet. The backend is handled by Inphinity and administrators manage Inphinity Forms from either our Inphinity App portal or even better, Inphinity Forms Admin application in the Qlik Cloud.
Seeing many of our customers moving to Qlik Cloud or planning this strategic initiative, we spent the first two months of this year making Inphinity Forms Full SaaS administration easier than ever. Let’s explore what’s new together.
Just recently, Qlik has released custom user groups in Qlik Cloud. You can already use them to manage access to Inphinity Forms as well.
In this release, we introduced SQL Data Sources in Cloud to simplify the connectivity to SQL databases. SQL data source is a database connection that can be shared by multiple form instances. It is useful when configuring more tables in the same database as form instances.
SQL data sources can be configured via both the Inphinity Forms Admin application and the Inphinity App portal.
To meet new security requirements in Snowflake, Inphinity Forms now enables the use of the key-pair authentication. Note that to do so in the Full SaaS deployment, it is required to define the connection to the Snowflake database as an SQL Data Source.
Inphinity Forms Admin application for Full SaaS deployments went through a makeover. We have added many new options so you won’t need to leave your Qlik Cloud to manage Inphinity Forms, even in complex environments.
Connect your forms to Snowflake, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and other SQL databases easily. In addition to inphinity-managed storage, client-managed database storages can now be configured from the application, too.
Except for all mentioned above, new options in the data storage management will be useful: export data, clear data, duplicate form instances.
Also, the application performance was improved significantly. One of the updates is that Qlik Application Automations were replaced by direct API calls to the Inphinity App portal. Therefore, reloads are not required to update data in the application anymore.
Except for all the new functions related to Inphinity Forms administration in Qlik Cloud, we have included some security updates and new features for On-Prem and Hybrid SaaS deployments. You can find the full changelog here.
When referring to manual inputs in expressions, numeric values required additional formatting functions to be handled properly. Regardless of the deployment type, you can now use new special variables to refer to numeric values without any additional transformations needed.
Cloud is the future. And with Qlik-native, cloud-ready writeback, it just got even easier. Starting today.
