Hi to the Qlik & Inphinity community and welcome to the new release of Inphinity Forms.
This one is all about Forms Planning.
This release is heavily focused on Forms Planning. Since we introduced the editable pivot table two years ago, many of you have been pushing its boundaries – competing with Qlik and Inphinity against advanced standalone tools while replacing spreadsheets.
And we are here to support that. We collect all your feedback and feature requests and thoughtfuly evaluate what to deliver next.
In this release, two major updates are coming – non-pivot fields and actions.
Let’s explore them together.
Non-Pivot Fields
Non-pivot fields allow you to add additional information from the data model without forcing everything into the pivot structure. Both text and numeric information are supported.
You can display context such as manager, owner, team, categorizations, last year values, or rates. The screenshot below is from the HR Team Management demo application.

In addition, you can allow end users to enter text or numeric values outside the pivot structure itself. This is especially useful for notes, action points, assumptions, or specific rates that don’t belong directly in the pivot logic. The screenshot below is from Sales Planning & Forecasting demo application.

This gives you more flexibility when designing planning forms – keeping the pivot clean while enriching the form with the context and inputs real planning processes actually require.
Actions
Actions bring custom buttons into Forms.
You can now define your own toolbar buttons to manage the object, interact with the rest of the Qlik application, or even navigate users outside the Qlik environment.
This allows you to move beyond simple data entry. Forms Planning becomes a natural step in the overall workflow – whether that means triggering logic, guiding users through next steps, or connecting planning to the broader application context.

Performance Optimization
If you’re using Forms Planning on top of QVD or XML to define large plans with tens or even hundreds of thousands of planned values, you will see a significant improvement in processing time thanks to improved incremental loading and object rendering.
Other Improvements
This release also introduces additional checks for SQL form instances, such as validation of the table name and changelog table. Additionally, trusted certificates for MariaDB, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL data sources are now supported.
As always, we also fixed reported bugs. You can find the full changelog here.
