Monterey Mushrooms, a leading grower, packer, and shipper of fresh mushrooms in the United States and Mexico, has long relied on data to drive operational efficiency. However, their budgeting and forecasting processes faced limitations due to outdated solutions and siloed data. Tom Langell, Senior Director of Information Systems, sought a more integrated and efficient approach to leveraging the company’s extensive historical and operational data.

The Challenge

Before partnering with Inphinity, Monterey Mushrooms faced multiple challenges:

• Their existing budgeting solution had limitations, preventing further development and scalability.
• The budgeting process was fragmented across divisions, with different methodologies in use.
• Spreadsheets and manual uploads created inefficiencies and data inconsistencies.
• A lack of integration between budgeting tools and historical data hindered data-driven decision-making.

The Solution

In 2024, Monterey Mushrooms explored options for a more dynamic and integrated budgeting solution. At the Qlik Connect conference, Tom and his team discovered Inphinity’s capabilities and saw potential in its ability to enhance their existing Qlik Sense infrastructure.

They embarked on a proof-of-concept (POC) phase, working closely with Inphinity’s development team to quickly prototype and iterate on a new budgeting solution. This agile approach allowed them to integrate historical sales, production, and financial data into a unified system.
