How Monterey Mushrooms unified fragmented planning in Qlik
With Inphinity, Qlik became a planning system that shows whether each facility can meet planned demand, then connects those plans to costs and actuals.

Monterey Mushrooms is one of North America’s largest growers, packers, and shippers of fresh mushrooms, operating facilities across the United States and Mexico. With thousands of employees and decades of operational experience, they heavily rely on data to plan production, sales, and capacity.
Legacy budgeting app
The company had an in-house budgeting solution, but its vendor had stopped developing it. Built for one division, it could not evolve to meet the company’s broader planning needs.
Spreadsheet-based planning
Sales and capacity planning happened in spreadsheets before teams uploaded the results to the budgeting tool. As a result, manual work sat between planning and execution.
Budget inputs disconnected from actuals
The budgeting process could not track the inputs behind each budget against actual results. Consequently, the team could not see what was driving the numbers.
Untapped Qlik data
Years of operational and financial data already existed inside Qlik. However, their budgeting process could not use it without importing it.
The team came to Inphinity for a better budgeting solution connected to its Qlik data.
We were looking for a budgeting solution that could tie existing Qlik data into the planning process and allow users to write information directly back into Qlik.
That first sales app grew into 4 Qlik applications linking sales, capacity, expenses, and actuals.
Together, they transformed a disconnected budgeting process into a connected planning ecosystem built directly in Qlik.

Being able to see in one place what your availability is between your sales needs and your production plans is pretty liberating.
